Cynthia Dwork is a computer scientist widely recognized as one of the founders of the field of differential privacy. She co-authored DWORK2014 with Aaron Roth, the canonical monograph on the mathematical foundations of differential privacy. Her foundational contributions include the original definition of differential privacy (Dwork et al., 2006), the Laplace mechanism, and the advanced composition theorem. She is currently at Harvard University.
